Randolph County Warrant Checks
For an online Randolph County warrant check, Indiana MyCase is the main public tool. It searches court cases, not warrants as such. Within Randolph County dockets, Circuit uses code 68C01, Superior uses 68D01, and Union City City Court uses 68H02. Pull one known case, not batches of names.
- Use a cause number or citation number when available; otherwise search a party name with lawful identifying details.
- Filter by Randolph court, case type, case status, and filing dates.
- Read the chronological summary for issuance, service, recall, quash, hearing, or later orders.
- Ask the Clerk or issuing court whether the public docket is current. Contact Union City City Court for its cases.
- Ask the Sheriff or serving police agency operational questions. Indiana has no single public statewide criminal-warrant lookup, so another county’s court confirms its own orders.
- For a public policy or record category, use Indiana APRA after confirming the proper written channel.
MyCase Is Not Certification
MyCase shows parties, court, case type, filing history, and some documents for Randolph County matters. It cannot promise that every warrant, affidavit, sealed case, expunged matter, juvenile record, confidential identifier, or fresh entry is visible. An open case is not an active-warrant label. A closed case does not answer what was enforceable on an earlier date. The official search tips explain the case, citation, party, attorney, wildcard, and date controls.

The blank search screen is a privacy-safe place to begin a Randolph County warrant lookup, so confirm each possible match with the court itself.
Warrants in Randolph County: The Main Types
A warrant's informal name matters less than its docket, statute, and order, since each Randolph County warrant type follows a different legal path.
| Warrant Type | How It Arises | Who Issues It |
|---|---|---|
| Arrest warrant | Indictment or judicial probable-cause process | Indiana court or judge |
| Bench or FTA warrant | Missed hearing or failure to comply in an existing case | Judge handling that case |
| Search warrant | Probable cause supports a search | Authorized judicial officer |
| Traffic-related process | Nonappearance or unresolved court judgment | Court named on the ticket |
Probation violations and out-of-county warrants belong to their own issuing court or supervising authority. A recent-arrest list is not Randolph County's full active-warrant record.
Two Randolph Trial Courts
Randolph Circuit and Superior Courts share the Winchester courthouse but remain two distinct courts. Circuit is Room 301; Superior is Room 302. The Clerk in Room 201 keeps the public court files for Randolph County and helps locate eligible records. That office cannot give legal advice or recall an order. The cause number tells you which court controls the matter. The Indiana Judicial Branch county page links the official local court routes.

That directory separates the judge's authority from the sheriff's serving role. It keeps a Randolph County warrant question from landing at the wrong desk.
Randolph County Warrant Records: What They Show
A public Randolph County case file can list charges, parties, and hearings. It does not certify warrant status today, so match several identifiers and read the later entries.
| Cause Number | A format such as synthetic 68D01-YYMM-CM-###### |
|---|---|
| Subject | Name or description, requiring careful identity verification |
| Charge | Alleged offense, not a conviction |
| Issuing Court | Court controlling issuance and recall |
| Bond | Case-specific amount and terms if public |
| Status Events | Issuance, service, return, recall, quash, stay, or hearing |
Randolph County publishes no stand-alone warrant numbering format of its own. When asking the Clerk for a warrant record, give the court cause number instead.
The Sheriff App Has Limits
The official recent-arrests page states that its information moved to the “RANDOLPH COUNTY INDIANA SHERIFF APP.” Entries there carry name, date, charges, and agency. Labels run generic: failure to appear, probation violation, out-of-county warrant. Those entries cover arrests and custody, not every active order. No refresh schedule is published. Check the official transition notice before relying on the app.

A recent arrest in Randolph County is not a most-wanted selection. Nor does it prove the same warrant is still outstanding.
Randolph County Warrants: Who Issues, Who Serves
A judge signs the order. Under Indiana law, a written arrest warrant is directed to the sheriff, who may execute it or deliver it to another officer or agency. Municipal police can serve process in Randolph County. They cannot recall it. Nor do they replace the clerk as the record source, and the prosecutor presents the State's case without holding the public warrant records.
Randolph County Sheriff
155 East South Street, Winchester, IN 47394
(765) 584-1721 or (765) 584-7331
Randolph County lists no separate warrant unit, warrant-only phone line, or warrant-window hours. Confirm the right routine contact before you drive over.
The Winchester Courthouse Route
The courthouse sits at 100 South Main Street in Winchester, on the block bounded by Main, Franklin, Meridian, and Highway 32. The Clerk in Room 201 is the first stop for a Randolph County court-record question. Published hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The phone numbers are (765) 584-4214 and (765) 584-4903. Bring the cause number. Ask which court controls the next step. The official courthouse page gives building orientation.

The War Memorial, Doughboy statue, and tank mark the Winchester square well. They are landmarks only, and none of them says anything about a Randolph County case.
Handling a Randolph County Warrant
First, confirm the order and its issuing court. A lawyer can weigh custody risk and ask whether voluntary surrender, posting the case-specific bond, a scheduled appearance, or a motion to recall or quash fits. Randolph County has no universal recall fee, no online recall form, and no standing no-arrest walk-in program. Paying court costs is not the same as recall. PayGOV requires a cause number and uses location code 3744. Even then, a balance, a bond deposit, a BMV reinstatement, and the judge's warrant decision stay separate. Call before you pay.
Important: Consult an attorney before surrender or appearance. Only the issuing court can recall or quash its order, and active process can lead to custody.
FTA Can Reach the BMV
Miss a court date on a traffic ticket and the trouble can follow you to the license branch. Failure to appear, or failure to pay after judgment, can trigger a driving-privilege suspension in Randolph County. The court must then tell the Indiana BMV about an appearance, a payment, or another resolution. Note the direction of that flow. Paying the BMV, or checking a license status, does not prove a Randolph County court warrant was recalled. Clearance has to come from the court itself. Court identity matters too. Winchester City Court was abolished December 31, 2023. Its old traffic information moved to the Randolph County courthouse. Tickets issued after May 2022 follow the court named on the ticket. Parking tickets stay with the Winchester Clerk-Treasurer. Union City City Court remains listed as 68H02. So read the court name before paying. Randolph County allocation rules place many infractions, ordinance matters, and Title 9 cases in Superior Court, subject to city-court jurisdiction. A citation, a judgment, an FTA entry, a warrant, and a BMV consequence can each update on its own schedule. Resolve each with the office that keeps it. Bail needs the same care. The local bond schedule sets default amounts by offense class when bail is not otherwise set. It permits a 10 percent cash deposit in certain Level 6 felony and misdemeanor situations. Domestic-violence holds, no-contact conditions, intoxication holds, property bonds, and judge-set exceptions can change the result. Those figures are not a universal warrant price. Talk them over with counsel in the actual case.
Warrant Record Access Under Indiana Law
Indiana treats court files as public, within limits. The Access to Public Records Act covers agency records in Randolph County, and the Indiana Rules on Access to Court Records cover court files. Sealed, expunged, juvenile, confidential, and protected investigative material may stay out of reach. A request cannot force a warrant database into being.
Key rules: IC 5-14-3 supplies the agency-record framework. Access Rule 4 states the general court-access rule. Access Rule 5 identifies excluded and confidential categories. Title 35 contains Indiana criminal warrant provisions.
Randolph Warrant Terms
Local sources use practical language that must be read in its docket context.
- Failure to appear
- A missed required court event that may prompt judicial action.
- Bench warrant
- Common term for a judge’s warrant arising in an existing case.
- Recall or quash
- Judicial action affecting a warrant, with the signed order controlling.
- Return
- An officer’s record of execution or nonexecution.
- Probable cause
- The legal basis for issuance, not proof of guilt.
- Restricted record
- Material withheld under sealing, confidentiality, juvenile, or investigative rules.
The Indiana e-Tax Warrant service is a false friend. It covers tax warrants only, not Randolph County criminal arrest warrants.
No Randolph Warrant Roster
Randolph County publishes no countywide warrant roster. There is no most-wanted list. No roundup, amnesty day, or surrender sheet exists here. That absence does not mean no warrants exist. It means a Randolph County warrant check runs through MyCase, the Clerk, the issuing court, and the serving agency rather than an aggregator. Indiana court statistics add a caution of their own. They count filings, dispositions, and probation workload. They offer no official outstanding-warrant count for Randolph County. Arrest totals and pending cases are not warrant counts either. A blank result on a Randolph County search has several explanations. The name may be spelled differently. A narrow date filter can hide an older case. The order may have been entered recently, or the case may be sealed. A warrant issued outside Randolph County may sit with another Indiana court. A federal matter belongs to the Southern District of Indiana, not MyCase. Repeat the search with a citation or cause number, drop the extra filters, and confirm with the proper court. A hit deserves the same caution. One person can have several matters. A single docket can hold more than one kind of process. Compare party identifiers, court code, case type, event dates, and later orders. Do not treat a name match or an older failure-to-appear entry as current status. The case-type and court filters help narrow results. Only the issuing court can confirm what stands today.
Ask for Randolph County records the right way. Name a record, not a legal conclusion. A good request identifies a policy, a blank form, a retention category, a non-identifying aggregate count, or a service return for a defined period. The Sheriff lists no records email or fax. Call or visit first to confirm the correct written channel before sending anything sensitive. Indiana guidance separates prompt acknowledgment from production within a reasonable time. APRA will not make an office build a new searchable list, either. Request an existing disclosable category. Give the date range. Personal identifiers, sealed files, confidential material, and investigative records can be withheld or redacted. The Indiana Public Access Counselor offers informal guidance on access. It cannot unseal a protected record or decide whether someone must appear in court. Federal records draw a different line. Randolph County sits in the Southern District of Indiana. Confirm the correct division with the federal Clerk. PACER can expose public federal docket material and charges fees. Sealed federal warrants stay unavailable there. The U.S. Marshals Service, the federal court, and federal counsel are all distinct from the Randolph County Sheriff. If a new warrant program ever appears, verify the government URL, the dates, the eligible case types, the fees, and the issuing authority.
City Warrant Records in Randolph County
Randolph County spreads its warrant work across five incorporated places, ordered here by the official 2020 Census table. None of them runs its own people-search database. A city police department can serve process or point you to a working contact. That does not replace the Clerk or the issuing court. Before assuming which office controls a case, read the court code printed on the citation or case record. Winchester carries the weight. The courthouse, Clerk, Circuit Court, Superior Court, Sheriff, and jail routes all run through it. Union City keeps the one city court currently listed in the official directory. Parker City, Farmland, and Lynn have municipal contacts but no separate current court entry. When in doubt, fall back on three doors. Try MyCase for an eligible case, the issuing court for judicial status, and the right police or Sheriff contact for service questions. Randolph County residents should save 911 for real emergencies, not routine warrant inquiries.
